During my several years in India, I saw plenty of funny, blunt, and contradictory public signs.
A man relieved his bladder against a wall painted with bold letters, “Do Not Urine Here.”
One signboard read “Do Not Dump Rubbish”, below which a cow and two goats picked their way through a fetid pile of garbage.
“Don’t buy from unauthorised street hawker. You will be cheated,” stated a sign along a busy shopping street.
“Give way to ably disabled,” read another.
And then there are the plain confusing signs.
