To celebrate Mother’s Day this coming weekend, I’d like to share some sweet things my girls have said to me over the past few years.
“You look beautiful.”
“You smell yummy.”
“I love you more than the ocean.”
“You’re awesome Mama.”
“Mummy, you’re the B…E…A…S…T!”
“Beast?” I asked.
My daughter giggled. “I mean B..E..S..T.”
“Mummy, when you die, can I have your jewellery?”
After climbing into my bed early morning and sharing my pillow, my daughter said, “Your breath smells like dog poo.”
“When you die we can eat as much ice cream as we want.”
“You cranky old poo.”
And then there’s the stabbing comment that was masked with a compliment.
“I love you more than the beach. I love Daddy more than the universe.”
Perhaps she should have saved that thought for Father’s Day.
